  • ⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 ¾ cups whole-wheat pastry flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (for coating)
  • ½ cup organic cane sugar (for coating)
  • ½ tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix whole-wheat pastry flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together apple cider, applesauce, coconut sugar, Greek yogurt, melted coconut oil, and egg until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. Fill greased donut pans with batter.
  6. Bake for 6–8 minutes or until springy when pressed.
  7. Cool briefly then coat in melted coconut oil followed by a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
