  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¾ + ⅓ cup gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats (divided)
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose gluten-free flour
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened and cut in 8 pieces)
  • ⅓ cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds) (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix sugars, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla extract, spices, and salt. Add cubed apples; toss to coat and transfer to a greased baking dish.
