  • 1 ½ pounds flank steak or flatiron steak
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • ½ cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar-free granulated sweetener
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon xanthan gum
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips against the grain to ensure tenderness.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together minced ginger, garlic, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), water, sugar-free sweetener, red pepper flakes, and xanthan gum until combined.
  3. Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef strips in batches and cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. Remove beef from skillet and set aside. Pour the prepared sauce into the same skillet and simmer while stirring until slightly thickened (about 3-5 minutes).
